About the Role:

The Orange County Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled Audiologist to join our team in the North Orange County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). As an Audiologist, you will play a critical role in enhancing the educational progress of our deaf and hard of hearing students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to IEP teams regarding placement and educational program considerations in cases related to hearing disorders, cochlear implants, central auditory processing disorders, and auditory skill development.
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and other professionals to ensure that students receive a comprehensive and inclusive education.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, technologies, and best practices in audiology and special education to provide high-quality services to students.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Audiology or a related field.
  • California state certification as an Audiologist.
  • Experience working with students with hearing impairments and their families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
