Position Overview:

As a key member of The Moon Saloon team, the Hourly Manager/Key Employee plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant. This position oversees essential business duties related to day-to-day operations, focusing on Hospitality, Safety, Cleanliness, Kitchen, and Bar areas. The Hourly Manager ensures the shift runs efficiently, provides clear direction to hourly employees, and communicates all necessary business, employee, and customer updates to the management team during shift changes.

Accountabilities
  • Leadership & Coaching: Provide guidance and support to hourly employees to ensure they meet their responsibilities and achieve their goals.
  • Training & Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of hourly employees.
  • Guest Service & Atmosphere: Ensure that our guests receive exceptional service and have a positive dining experience.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Monitor and address any guest complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Food & Beverage Quality: Ensure that all food and beverages meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Financials: Manage cash handling and inventory control to ensure accurate financial reporting and minimize losses.
  • Standards: Maintain a clean and organized restaurant, adhering to our high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Responsible Alcohol Service: Ensure that all employees are trained and equipped to serve alcohol responsibly.
  • Food Safety/Sanitation: Maintain a safe and sanitary environment for our guests and employees.
  • Safety & Security: Ensure that our restaurant is a safe and secure environment for our guests and employees.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor Staffing Levels: Ensure that we have the right number of employees on duty to meet our business needs.
  • Proper Cash Handling: Manage cash handling procedures to ensure accuracy and minimize losses.
  • Following Proper Systems: Ensure that all employees follow our established systems and procedures.
  • Team Building: Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages collaboration and open communication.
  • Vendor Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with our vendors to ensure timely and quality deliveries.
  • To Go Service & Catering: Manage our to-go service and catering operations to ensure exceptional customer service and quality.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel: Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel to manage documents and spreadsheets.
  • General knowledge in full service restaurant operations/hospitality industry: Familiarity with the principles and practices of full service restaurant operations and the hospitality industry.
  • Strong organization and planning skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong operational skills in a customer-service & hospitality environment: Experience in managing customer-facing operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong coaching skills: Ability to provide guidance, support, and feedback to hourly employees.
  • Intermediate mathematical computations skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and manage financial data.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing: Effective communication skills to interact with employees, guests, and management.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels: Ability to build strong relationships with employees, guests, and vendors.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information: Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications
  • Top performing server or Kitchen employee: Previous experience as a top-performing server or kitchen employee in a full service restaurant environment.
