About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer - Transmission Substations to join our team at Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, leading, and overseeing engineering responsibilities related to transmission substation civil design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, schedule, and coordinate with construction management of the planned projects for the Oncor Electric high voltage system capital projects.
  • Procure engineering services such as surveying and geotechnical testing to assist in providing the civil design.
  • Produce engineering design drawings for foundations, grading and drainage, erosion control and all civil related items including retaining walls, fencing, masonry walls, ditches, berms culverts minor structural for substation and switching station projects.
  • Prepare budgetary cost estimates and Work Authorizations to obtain financial approval for assigned projects.
  • Prepare bid packages for civil work, set up and lead pre-bid meetings, perform technical evaluations of the resulting civil contractor bids and award bids based on cost and resource availability to complete project as scheduled.
  • Coordinate the construction of assigned projects by staying in close contact with assigned contractor and Oncor's Construction Management.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and interface with other areas of the Company and with others external to the Company to assure that civil designs and construction practices are appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil engineering AND 6+ years of related engineering experience.
  • Applicants with Professional Engineer License in the State of Texas recommended to apply.
