Clinical Specialist Inpatient Hospital

The Clinical Specialist is a key member of the nursing leadership team at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, playing a vital role in shaping the delivery of high-quality patient care. This dynamic professional is responsible for influencing nurses, nursing support personnel, and the organization as a whole to support evidence-based practice (EBP) and ensure the achievement of quality and cost-effective patient and family outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to develop and implement EBP initiatives that drive positive patient outcomes.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, promoting excellence in patient care and safety.
  • Develop and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care that align with DFCI's mission and vision.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of educational programs and initiatives that promote ongoing competence among nursing staff.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in nursing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years recent experience as a nurse in oncology.
  • Leadership and education experience required.
  • Appropriate advanced practice nursing certification.
  • Clinical expertise in oncology nursing.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of an interprofessional team.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
