Job Overview

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver exceptional customer service while promoting and selling a variety of products on the sales floor. This position focuses on non-apparel items, including automotive, electrical, plumbing, housewares, and power equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers to sell products and provide insights on pricing and features.
  • Share product knowledge and suggest complementary items to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Assist customers in placing orders for specialized products as required.
  • Support the receiving and displaying of merchandise according to established guidelines.
  • Handle customer inquiries via telephone and provide relevant information.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, ensuring the safety and security of merchandise.
  • Participate in inventory management and cycle counts.
  • Utilize appropriate tools and equipment for material handling, including hand trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management related to customer service and product merchandising.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills: Proficiency in retail sales techniques is required. Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures is necessary. Strong numerical skills for sorting and verifying stock are essential. Capability to manage challenging customer service situations is important. Team collaboration is a must. Familiarity with visual merchandising practices is advantageous.

Education: A High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements: Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 75 pounds to facilitate merchandise movement and participate in store resets and renovations.
