Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team at Builders FirstSource. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining our fleet of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret job orders to determine the necessary repairs and maintenance for our fleet vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with our fleet vehicles, including engine and transmission problems.
  • Inspect and maintain the safety features of our fleet vehicles, including brakes, tires, and suspension systems.
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure that all fleet vehicles are properly maintained and meet our safety and quality standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 months of experience in a related field, such as automotive repair or heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Work Environment

This role requires frequent exposure to outside weather conditions and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
