Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer

At AST, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of control systems for complex automation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop control systems for robotics and vision applications, including PLC, HMI, and peripheral code.
  • Draft operations and maintenance manuals for equipment and systems.
  • Participate in the installation, startup, and testing of machinery at customer facilities.
  • Perform machine testing, experiments, and debug activities to ensure designs meet project requirements.
  • Execute factory acceptance testing and document results.
  • Manage projects and tasks within given timelines and budgets with moderate oversight.
  • Maintain technical records, test results, and documentation.
  • Estimate hours required to accomplish tasks.
  • Participate in design review and provide technical input to peers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Engineering curriculum.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Understanding of industrial machinery specifications and standards.
  • Knowledge of machine control system design and testing environment.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Allen-Bradley PLC Platform, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and disciplined with attention to detail.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take and pass a drug test.
