Your Role

We are seeking enthusiastic Manufacturing Team Members to become part of our advanced freeze-drying facility. In this position, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient production of premium, fresh, human-grade pet food. Team Members will gain proficiency in various operational areas and become specialists in their designated focus areas. This role requires strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, and teamwork skills to meet our operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure individual safety, product quality, and food safety, reporting any incidents that may compromise these standards.
  • Assist in the operation of freeze dryers, including the filling, loading, and unloading of trays, as well as sanitizing equipment.
  • Operate essential plant machinery (e.g., dishwashers, boxers, tapers, and hand trucks) in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to product quality and food safety by maintaining accurate records of quality control checks, production reports, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform total productive maintenance tasks.
  • Identify and document root causes of issues, implementing corrective actions to resolve them.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic experience in equipment troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in operating computers and/or tablets, with familiarity in standard desktop systems (e.g., ERP, MES, Microsoft Excel).
  • Effective reading, writing, and communication skills in English.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Lean/TPM manufacturing principles.
  • Understanding of HACCP and GMPs.
  • Experience with equipment HMIs.
  • Prior forklift operation experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in food production.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and lower up to 50 pounds, with activities including reaching, standing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, and working at heights above 6 feet.
  • Capability to work in environments with allergens present.
  • Willingness to work in varying temperatures (70°F to 90°F, -20°F to 40°F), as well as in noisy, dusty, and wet conditions.
  • Must be able to wear safety personal protective equipment (hard hats, body harnesses, face shields, steel-toed boots).
  • Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) including hygiene and uniform requirements.
