Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Retail Associate to join our team at Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana. As a Retail Associate, you will play a critical role in assisting the store management team in achieving operational goals and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ring up customer orders, maintain a balanced drawer, and follow all cash handling procedures and protocols.
  • Provide general information about Goodwill programs to educate customers and answer questions, directing higher-level inquiries to the appropriate associate or manager.
  • Maintain cleanliness of sales floor, including purging, colorizing, running racks, and merchandising.
  • Sort product to identify quality and value, properly barbing, tagging, and hanging textiles or wares, and grouping textiles by light to dark and solid to prints.
  • Produce 100 pieces per hour adhering to Goodwill's pricing standards and update daily production tracking sheets.
  • Occasionally use a pallet jack and regularly use a conveyor belt.
  • Accept donations from customers, maintain a clean and clear donation door, and educate customers on current Goodwill promotions.
  • Quickly and accurately sort products and distribute them to appropriate areas, maintaining an efficient working area by ensuring the backroom is clean and organized.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed and regularly use heavy equipment, including a pallet jack, double stacker, floor scrubber, and hydraulic lift.
  • Develop a keen eye to identify and secure items of value for ClickGoodwill, staying informed of market value through eBay and other Internet shopping sites.
  • Properly, efficiently, and carefully palletize, wrap, and ship totes to ClickGoodwill to meet store quota regarding totes shipped per week.
  • Scan books received by the store, decide what is sent to ClickGoodwill or displayed at the store location, and manage a clean, organized, in-store sales-effective display.
  • Check each rack/cart to ensure quality and value, properly colorize, merchandise, and purge the sales floor, maintaining a clean and orderly sales floor, putting away carts, and stocking shelves.
Requirements
  • No degree or credential requirements; we value candidates who can demonstrate capability and articulate how prior experiences will help them contribute.
