Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess intricate biomedical equipment challenges and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance, safety evaluations, and environmental assessments while nurturing strong customer relationships.
  • Adhere to and guide others on GE policies, procedures, and hospital protocols, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members and colleagues.
  • Initiate and maintain proactive communication with clients to guarantee issue resolution and follow-up, leading to enhanced customer satisfaction.
  • Implement GE/customer facility agreements, aligning with business objectives.
  • Mentor and support technicians in both basic and advanced repair tasks.
  • Collaborate as part of a local team to deliver efficient service across all accounts within the designated area.
  • Share on-call responsibilities as required.
  • Document all repair activities and submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of spare parts, tools, and testing equipment, including calibration.
  • Maintain an approved inventory of parts.
  • Oversee vendor service delivery processes in accordance with GE policies.
  • Continuously enhance and update technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and practices related to the safe and effective operation of medical equipment through formal training.
  • May assume the role of Site Leader, directing the activities of fellow Biomedical Technicians and engaging in customer relations, including participation in safety committees and overall account management.
  • Comply with Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety standards, and any other relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, along with 2 years of experience in servicing medical equipment;
  • OR equivalent military training and 2 years of experience with electrical or mechanical systems;
  • OR a High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of experience in medical equipment service.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical issues to clients in an understandable manner.
  • Candidates must comply with GE HealthCare's standard background check, including a post-offer drug screening. Additionally, employees must adhere to all customer access policies, which may include proof of required immunizations and further background checks.
  • Special Physical Requirements:
Candidates should be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs. unassisted, and frequently bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and standing for extended periods.

Additionally, candidates must be able to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex and extend their neck, and possess good hand and finger dexterity. Specific vision capabilities required may include color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.


  • Willingness to be available for after-hours support or participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, for urgent issues as needed.
