Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Music Instructional Support Specialist to assist in the delivery of music education. This role is ideal for individuals who possess a strong understanding of formal music education and can effectively support both individual and group learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the teaching and reinforcement of musical concepts and techniques to students.
- Facilitate exercises, rehearsals, and performances while maintaining accurate attendance and records.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with established guidelines.
- Assist in organizing music-related activities and lessons.
- Perform clerical duties such as duplicating materials and maintaining music resources.
- Communicate effectively with educators, students, and parents regarding student progress.
- Provide assistance to students in preparing and adjusting their instruments.
- Participate in meetings and professional development sessions as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 48 college units in music or an Associate's degree in a related field. Candidates must also pass a qualifying written examination.
Experience:
Experience working with children in a structured environment, along with some background in music education.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to assist in teaching musical concepts and instrumentation.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting musical scores.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience and courtesy.
- Capability to maintain effective working relationships with students and staff.
- Willingness to engage in rehearsals and performances.
Working Conditions:
The role involves working in classroom settings and various instructional environments, which may include outdoor spaces. Candidates should be prepared for physical demands such as playing instruments and maintaining focus during extended periods.
