Director of Development and Alumni Affairs Job Description
At Penn State Dickinson Law, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development and Alumni Affairs to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of our institution and contribute to the success of our students and faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Articulate the needs and ambitions of Penn State Dickinson Law through excellent communications, including written proposals.
- Identify a pool and a pipeline of prospects for immediate and long-term cultivation, and develop strategies to engage them.
- Supervise and mentor a team of fundraisers, alumni relations professionals, and support staff to foster inclusive relationships and achieve fundraising goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising program, including annual goals, plans, and budgets, to support Penn State Dickinson Law's priorities.
- Recruit and guide a diverse volunteer committee to support the fundraising process and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Manage a portfolio of top prospects and plan and execute solicitation strategies to secure major gifts.
- Travel extensively to pursue fundraising strategies and build relationships with alumni and friends of the law school.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, with 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- A track record of success in securing major gifts and meeting fundraising goals.
- Demonstrated knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in higher education, and a commitment to antiracism.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse communities and stakeholders.
