The Department of Music is seeking applications for the role of Instructional Assistant for the University Gamelan course (Music 0690). This position is integral to the success of the program and involves various responsibilities throughout the semester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining the classroom environment.
  • Support the lead instructor during class sessions.
  • Facilitate weekly practice sessions for students (1-2 sessions per week).
  • Coordinate performance venues and logistics.
  • Assist in the transportation of musical instruments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and engagement.
  • Contribute to assessing student progress throughout the semester.
  • Promote equitable instruction and classroom dynamics.
  • Perform additional tasks that align with the course objectives and performance schedule.

These responsibilities are expected to average no more than 10 hours per week, with increased hours during performance weeks.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Music, with a focus on the performance and teaching of Indonesian Gamelan.
