About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA. As a Mobile Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair of our heavy equipment fleet, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diesel and gasoline engine repairs, diagnose and repair power train component issues, and troubleshoot hydraulic system problems.
  • Repair and maintain truck air brake systems, suspension and steering systems, and electrical systems.
  • Perform specialized component repairs, including hydraulic and mechanical drives, and make minor repairs such as welding and cutting.
  • Perform and track Scheduled Maintenance in accordance with Heidelberg's PM Program.
  • Perform road calls in a safe, fast, and professional manner when necessary.
Requirements
  • Prefer high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of one year of experience repairing heavy equipment or vocational training
  • Ability to write legibly to complete work orders and other required paperwork
  • Ability to read and comprehend maintenance manuals
  • Basic hand and air tools required to repair heavy duty trucks
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to lift and carry up to 75-100 lbs. and work in confined spaces. The candidate must also be able to tolerate heights and work in extreme temperatures.
