Job Summary

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Outpatient Dialysis Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective dialysis therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, to patients undergoing chronic hemodialysis.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient plans of care.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and document medical justification and effectiveness.
  • Ensure accurate laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures are performed.
  • Delegate tasks to direct patient care staff, including LVNs/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians.
  • Monitor patient care staff for adherence to FKC policy and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and education initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current appropriate state licensure.
  • Minimum of 3 months experience in chronic hemodialysis.
  • Successful completion of FKC Education and Training requirements for new employees.
  • CPR BLS Certification.
  • Meet all conditions of employment, including Ishihara's Color Blindness Test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Chronic hemodialysis experience.
  • Successful completion of all annual required education/training/competencies.
Work Environment

The position provides direct patient care that regularly involves heavy lifting and moving of patients and assisting with ambulation. Equipment aids and/or coworkers may provide assistance. This position requires frequent, prolonged periods of standing and the employee must be able to bend over. The employee may occasionally be required to move, with assistance, machines and equipment of up to 200 lbs., and may lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet.

The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
