Key Responsibilities- Assist with the delivery of quality surgical care by coordinating with the circulating perioperative nurse during surgical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for surgical procedures.
- Supply sterile instruments and supplies to the sterile field as needed.
- Monitor the sterile field during procedures and take corrective action if necessary.
- Prepare medications and solutions for use during procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Maintain accountability for instruments, sponges, and sharps throughout the surgical procedure.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of a surgical technologist program or 1-year experience in a hospital setting as a surgical technologist.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery, Certified (TS-C) through a recognized certifying organization.
