Position Overview

We are currently seeking a mid to senior level Control Systems Engineer who is passionate about contributing to a purpose-driven organization. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers and designers to provide technical services to both public and private sector clients. Key responsibilities include:
  • Control systems engineering and process control strategy development
  • Automation design and construction support services
  • Conducting planning studies with comprehensive analyses
  • Designing systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities and pumping stations
Proficiency in PLC, HMI, and SCADA system planning, design, programming, and enhancement is essential. Depending on project scope, tasks may be performed as the project I&C lead or as part of a project team under the guidance of a principal level I&C engineer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing Support: Assist the marketing team with project pursuit strategies, develop presentation materials, and participate in presentations as the I&C discipline subject matter expert.
  • Design Activities: Define preliminary scopes, budgets, and staffing plans; conduct field reviews of existing systems; prepare studies and technical reports; perform engineering analyses for various treatment facilities; create construction documents including P&IDs and control panel details.
  • Procurement Support: Review instrument datasheets, assess contractor submittals, and evaluate shop drawings related to electrical and I&C work.
  • Construction Engineering Services: Inspect equipment supplier shops, conduct site inspections, support commissioning and performance testing, and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Adhere to company health and safety guidelines to ensure personal and team safety.
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate project requirements.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as project demands arise.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering; an MS is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in instrumentation and controls.
  • PE license in Control Systems or Electrical Engineering is required or must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
