We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Saracen Casino Resort. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, guest service, and operational efficiency in our Steakhouse and Banquet kitchen areas.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage kitchen staff to ensure seamless food production and service
- Develop and implement menu concepts, recipes, and cooking techniques to enhance guest experience
- Manage food, labor, and other expenses to meet budgetary requirements
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive dining experience
- Train and develop kitchen staff to improve skills and knowledge
- Monitor and control inventory, supplies, and equipment to optimize kitchen operations
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards of quality and service
- Minimum 5 years of restaurant industry experience, including 2-3 years of supervisory experience in food production
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a culinary arts degree or certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of food and labor costs, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction
- Valid gaming license and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, and moving through all areas of the casino. You must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust. You will be required to operate various kitchen equipment and tools, and maintain a high level of physical stamina and mental alertness to work in a fast-paced environment.
