About the Role:
The Covington Extrusion Plant Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant production activities in a 24/7 operation. This role requires a strong focus on safety, reliability, and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pursue improvements to individual and plant performance, including oversight of special teams to foster and drive improvements.
- Build strong knowledge and understanding around SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) rules and regulations to maintain a strong culture of compliance and values.
- Oversee all grades of activated carbon production.
- Manage and direct Plant Production Engineers, Production Supervisor, Area Supervisors, and Tour Foreman.
- Work with the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) team to ensure that operational schedules are executed to meet business demands.
- Have authority to make all decisions necessary to operate the wood-based plant safely, reliably, and in an environmentally sound manner.
- Serve as a member of the plant leadership team, developing the overall plant vision and culture.
- Facilitate quarterly SPC (Statistical Process Control) reviews for Covington and Wickliffe plants.
- Participate on the IngeviWay committee.
- Oversee general manning and training needs to allow proper operation of the plant.
Requirements:
- BS in Engineering or related field, required.
- 5 years Production/Manufacturing experience required, 10+ years preferred.
- 2 years supervising hourly and/or salary employees required, 3+ years preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be an active and engaged safety leader to build and maintain a strong safety culture to achieve zero personal and process safety incidents.
