Job Summary:

Campbell Union High School District is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Van Driver to transport students to and from school and special events. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class A or Class C California Motor Vehicle Operator's License and a clear driving record.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive a district vehicle over assigned routes in accordance with an established time schedule, picking up and discharging students
  • Transport students safely to and from school and other school-sponsored events
  • May transport children with special needs
  • Adhere to State laws, District policies, and safety procedures regarding student discipline and public contact with parents, school personnel, and community members
  • Follow and implement student behavior plans, maintaining student discipline
  • Sweep and clean the interior and exterior of the District vehicle
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports on mileage, number of students transported, and condition of District vehicle
  • Report problems or equipment malfunctions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Valid Class A or Class C California Motor Vehicle Operator's License
  • Clear driving record
  • Minimum one year experience driving with a Class C license and experience with driving a 10-passenger vehicle
  • Experience working with special need students preferred

Working Conditions:
  • While performing the essential functions and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms and speak and hear effectively
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
