Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Tabitha Health Care Services. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the living experience for our seniors by providing Physical Therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Physical Therapy services to seniors with physical or cognitive disabilities to maximize functional independence.
  • Work in a variety of settings, including nursing homes, home health care, and other contracted facilities.
  • Review seniors' charts and obtain current information that may affect Physical Therapist treatment.
  • Perform Physical Therapy treatment procedures as delegated by supervising Physical Therapist in accordance with the initial evaluation and plan of care.
  • Actively participate in senior/client care conferences and provide input to the Physical Therapist for developing the plan of care.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding any matter pertaining to any Tabitha seniors/clients.
  • Consistently use strength, agility, and good body mechanics when performing essential functions.
  • Assure reports of broken and malfunctioning equipment are made in a timely manner.
  • Complete required training and in-services promptly.
  • Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality as defined by Tabitha's policy pertaining to attendance and punctuality.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant school.
  • Must meet Tabitha's vaccination requirements.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language, including medical terminology related to the job.
  • Ability to safely perform the duties of the job while utilizing standard and specialized equipment.
  • Physical stamina with the ability to perform duties while moving about the work area for the entire shift.

Working Conditions:

Frequently works in senior/client homes, which may vary significantly in terms of their state of repair. Frequent exposure to heat/steam, dust, disinfectants, infectious waste, communicable diseases, bodily fluids, blood-borne pathogens, cleaning products, personal care products. Frequent interruptions and changes in priorities based on needs of seniors/clients.
