This nursing position is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support in a short-term rehabilitation setting. As an RN/LPN, you will play a vital role in enhancing the living experience of our seniors/residents/clients by performing various prescribed medical treatment and personal care services under the direction of a physician. Your goal will be to contribute to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our clients through respectful, professional, competent, and personable interaction.
Main Responsibilities
• Follows through on physician's orders in accordance with Tabitha's policies and procedures.
• Prepares, administers, and/or supervises administration of medication, treatments, and other nursing services as ordered by the physician and according to facility policies/procedures. Observes patient, watching for any sign of adverse reaction to medications.
• Assesses seniors/residents/clients assigned to him/her in regard to physical, mental, and psychosocial status, reporting condition changes in a timely manner to immediate supervisor and provides follow-up with family and physician as directed. Takes and accurately records vital signs.
• Diligently observes senior/client skin per Tabitha policies, proactively taking steps to avoid pressure ulcers.
• Completes procedures and documents the appropriate information on the Senior's/client's medical record in a timely manner according to Tabitha's policies and procedures With particular attention to accuracy and timeliness, follows department protocol for submission of complete documentation.
• Provides direction and monitors Med Aides who are delivering medications to seniors/residents/clients. Follows through on the comprehensive care plan as developed for each individual senior/client.
• Provides supervision and education to seniors/residents/clients for the self-administration of medications. When applicable, assists in teaching the elder/client and/or caregiver the necessary skills to allow the elder/client to return to his/her home.

Requirements
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language, including medical terminology related to the job.
• Ability to safely perform unassisted transfers (to and from bed, chair, toilet, commode, bathtub, or shower) and otherwise provide care to seniors/residents/clients who are weak, frail, obese, or unable to assist due to limited mobility, quadriplegia, paraplegia, tremors, paralysis, etc.
• At least age 18.
• Successful completion of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse course of study. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months experience as an RN or LPN preferred.
• RN or LPN License in good standing as recorded on the Nebraska State Registry or other Nurse Compact state required. CPR required. License must be kept up to date at the expense of the employee. CPR Certification must be kept up to date at the expense of the employee. Must meet Tabitha's vaccination requirements.
