Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bakery Evening Supervisor to lead our retail pastry team in the evening hours. As a key member of our Bakery department, you will be responsible for ensuring our bakery remains fully stocked with fresh, delightful products and providing exceptional service to our customers and associates during the evening shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Support: Perform tasks assigned by the Bakery Manager and lead the Bakery department in their absence, assisting with important tasks and providing effective leadership.
  • Train and Guide: Onboard new evening Bakery clerks and cleaners, providing them with the training and support they need to succeed.
  • Maintain Excellence: Ensure all department standards are met by monitoring the sales floor, prep area, back room, cooler, and freezer conditions.
  • Deliver Outstanding Service: Assist guests in finding items, take cake and special orders, and provide excellent service.
  • Ensure Quality and Safety: Keep supplies replenished, maintain food safety logs, and meet quality standards.
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
Requirements
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide outstanding customer service and work effectively with guests and team members.
  • Communication Skills: Oral and written communication skills and the ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food Service Expertise: Knowledge of retail food service, bakery and pastry operations, with a strong understanding of food service standards and practices.
  • Safety and Efficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of safety requirements and the ability to apply on-the-job safety training and safety policies to handle equipment and recognize and react potential hazards effectively.
Physical Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Stand in place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
  • Full range of upper body motion.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures.
