Position Overview:

The Mortgage Lending Officer position is an evolving professional role that focuses on identifying policies and applying specialized knowledge to monitor and evaluate processes and data. This role integrates established knowledge within its specialty area while maintaining a fundamental understanding of related industry practices.

In this role, the individual will develop a solid understanding of how the team collaborates with others to achieve the objectives of the area. The position has a limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of tasks and services provided, primarily affecting the immediate team.

Role Responsibilities:
- Engage with clients to discuss their financial circumstances, personal objectives, and lending requirements to assist them in achieving their home ownership aspirations.
- Gather and assess information regarding the client's financial situation, including income, assets, debts, cash flow, and credit history.
- Evaluate financial data to determine initial eligibility for various lending solutions.
- Provide tailored recommendations on lending options that align with the clients' financial and personal goals.
- Inform clients about the potential consequences, risks, and benefits associated with different lending solutions.
- Promote Citibank's brand and financial services to real estate agencies, builders, and other referral sources.
- Conduct client meetings outside of the office, adapting to clientele and market conditions.
- Collaborate with internal partners to enhance customer support and growth.
- Refer clients seeking financial services beyond lending to appropriate Citi professionals.
- Partner with Operations teams to ensure smooth processing of loan applications and timely closing of loans.
- Build relationships with key referral sources to drive mortgage business into the bank.
- Stay informed about local market trends and regulatory changes to better serve clients and industry professionals.

Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in mortgage sales.
- Proven track record in residential mortgage sales with an established client base.
- Familiarity with FHA/VA and conventional loan products is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial calculations and pricing alternatives.
- Excellent communication skills to guide clients through the loan process.
- Knowledge of consumer lending laws and regulations, including fair lending and privacy standards.
- Demonstrated customer service and relationship management skills.

Education:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
