Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced LPN to join our team as a Lead Nurse in Cardiology. This is a full-time, day shift position with NO weekends and NO holidays.

Purpose:

  • To provide professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
  • Train staff, coordinate work requirements, and provide input to employment decisions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assess patient's general condition and takes vital signs and weight.
  2. Train and mentors LPNs and MAs.
  3. Provide input for LPN/MA performance review and conducts review in conjunction with the clinical coordinator.
  4. Administer IV fluids under the direction of an RN.
  5. Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed and prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
  6. Order all clinical supplies.
  7. Phlebotomy and endocrine testing as ordered.
  8. Maintain Strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
  9. Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
  10. Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM under the direction of an RN.
  11. Ensure proper staffing of the clinic at all times.
  12. Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
  13. Represent the concerns/issues of the clinic flow staff.
  14. Provide input for hiring decisions.
  15. Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  16. Assign clinic staff to support the physicians and physician extenders on a daily basis.
  17. Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability.
  • Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
