Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently prepares the examination room and readies patients for assessments and procedures.
- Assists with examinations and procedures according to physician or healthcare provider preferences.
- Accurately evaluates patient symptoms, reactions, and physical conditions, documenting findings in the medical record.
- Records vital signs and other necessary measures based on the patient's condition or diagnosis as per office protocols.
- Coordinates tests, admissions, and other patient needs with local hospitals and facilities as directed by the physician or healthcare provider.
- Provides guidance and educational training on specific tests, procedures, or health and lifestyle modifications as instructed by the physician or healthcare provider.
- Supports the physician or healthcare provider with specialized treatments, including gynecological exams, minor surgical procedures, electrocautery, biopsies, sigmoidoscopies, casting, sterile technique procedures, and specimen preparation.
- Conducts office laboratory procedures, which may involve assisting with the collection, testing, handling, transporting, and documenting of specimens.
- Manages all aspects of prescription refills, including retrieving messages, reviewing charts, and communicating with pharmacies.
- Assists clinical staff with immunizations, lab draws, blood pressure monitoring, injections, patient rooming, and other necessary tasks.
- May require occasional travel to other locations within the service area.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma, BSN)
- Licensure: RN license in Indiana or another state with endorsement in Indiana. CPR certification is mandatory. Pediatric clinics also require ACLS and NRP certifications.
- Experience: A minimum of six months of current experience in an outpatient care setting is preferred. Experience in various clinical specialties is advantageous.
