Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of two years of leadership experience in a histology laboratory setting is essential.
Job Overview:
The Anatomic Pathology Manager will supervise daily operations of the Histopathology Laboratory, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. Key duties include:
- Overseeing the efficient functioning of the histopathology laboratory, executing all delegated responsibilities as outlined by the facility's CLIA Director.
- Creating work schedules, assigning tasks, and monitoring team performance, including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Acting as a liaison among residents, pathologists, and laboratory staff, collaborating with physicians on special requests.
- Managing equipment maintenance and scheduling preventative care for laboratory instruments.
- Developing budgets, managing supply and personnel information, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Formulating, recommending, and implementing policies and procedures pertinent to the histopathology laboratory.
- Ensuring adherence to safety regulations established by OSHA and CAP.
- Staying informed on advancements in Histopathology through ongoing education and literature review.
- Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory regulations and procedures.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
- Effective communication skills for conveying instructions and information.
- Proficiency in laboratory protocols and safety standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Commitment to providing training and development opportunities for staff.
- Strategic decision-making skills regarding operational processes and resource management.
