Job Title: DOCSIS/CMTS Engineer

At NetEffects, we are seeking a highly skilled DOCSIS/CMTS Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our network operations team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving escalated access and CPE device field issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated access and CPE device field issues
  • Perform assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps
  • Establish security, connectivity, and access parameters
  • Provide recommendations to optimize network infrastructure
  • Test and tune security devices and systems
  • Program and configure routers and switches
  • Implement communications technologies (data or voice)
  • Manage network services from planning phase through implementation

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of DOCSIS and EPON standards
  • Working knowledge of routing protocols, including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, and v4/v6 Multicast
  • Working knowledge of CMTS platforms, including Casa C100G, Arris E6000, and Cisco cBR8
  • Working knowledge of EPON platforms, including Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3
  • Working knowledge of switch platforms, including Cisco NCS/ASR and Juniper PTX/QFX/ACX
