GENERAL OVERVIEW

Engages in advanced grounds and facility upkeep tasks. Responsibilities encompass the maintenance and repair of structures, utility systems, stationary equipment, and the overall aesthetics of the Headquarters complex. Operates under minimal supervision, exercising considerable initiative and independent judgment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct skilled maintenance and repair tasks on buildings and stationary equipment, including plumbing, masonry, painting, and drainage systems.
  2. Manage landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, fertilizing, and watering various plants using appropriate tools and machinery.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and order of outdoor areas by removing debris, weeds, and refuse, while ensuring the campus remains visually appealing.
  4. Operate a variety of gas and diesel-powered equipment for grounds maintenance and snow/ice management as necessary.
  5. Perform inspections and minor repairs on tools and equipment to guarantee safe and efficient operations.
  6. Assist in the relocation of furniture and materials using appropriate handling equipment.
  7. Install and maintain irrigation systems, collaborating with plumbing staff as needed.
  8. Utilize pesticides and fertilizers responsibly, adhering to safety protocols.
  9. Follow established procedures to complete work orders and report any significant issues to management.
  10. Document work performed, including time spent and materials used, to maintain accurate records.
  11. Support recycling initiatives as required.
  12. Interpret and follow complex drawings and blueprints to execute tasks effectively.
  13. Maintain regular attendance and adhere to scheduled work hours.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: At least one year of relevant experience in building maintenance or trades, with skills in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, or landscaping.

Licensure: A valid driver’s license is required if driving is part of the job. Certification as a non-commercial pesticide applicator may be necessary.

Knowledge: Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment, as well as landscaping practices and regulations.

Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and analytical thinking are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems is required.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various environmental conditions.

Safety Compliance: Must adhere to safety standards and best practices in all work activities.
