About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at The GEO Group, Inc. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality nursing care to inmates/detainees while maintaining a safe and secure workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive physical assessments and medical histories to inmates/detainees.
  • Evaluate patients' symptoms, reactions, and progress, and report problems to the Physician and management.
  • Administer medication securely, taking precautions against drug hoarding and trafficking.
  • Document all detainee/inmate contacts and keep medical records confidential.
  • Supervise the workflow of the LPN staff and provide input into performance evaluation.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an approved program; graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as Registered Nurse in the state the facility is located.
  • Two (2) years of direct work experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently: Lift or carry and push/pull up to 40 lbs.; walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop and reach above shoulder level.
  • Occasionally: Lift or carry and push/pull up to 60 lbs.; work with machinery and climb.
