Job Title: GSE Technician

Aspire MRO is seeking a skilled GSE Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining ground support equipment in a safe operating condition, performing preventative maintenance, and resolving immediate operational and/or safety concerns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular maintenance, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble ground support equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Manage GSE Work Orders & PM's in the CMMS system.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including automotive equipment, tugs, jacks, 400Hz power units, golf carts, and maintenance stands.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled service to all equipment on site.
  • Install electrical wiring and controls and test for proper operation.
  • Perform mechanic skills, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Mentor and support less senior Facilities Technicians.
  • Diagnose problems and make adjustments.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Keep inventory of spare parts and equipment.
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Related technical or trade school education.
  • 5-8 years of diversified industrial mechanical experience, including experience working with GSE equipment and aircraft-related items.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Aircraft maintenance hangar experience.
  • ASE certification.
  • AS9100 experience.
Success Factors/Job Competencies:
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and technical reference manuals.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
  • Good understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Should be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work well with others.
  • Able to follow directions and work well independently.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, evenings, overtime, and on-call as assigned.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak Standard English for routine business correspondence and for producing work products.
  • Must be able to adhere to all established safety policies, processes, and procedures.
Work Environment:

This job operates in indoor and outdoor settings. The indoor settings include office, restroom, kitchen, and warehouse environments, which require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, as well as cleaning supplies and hand tools. The outdoor settings include parking lots and driveways. Occasionally subject to varying inside and/or outside temperatures, which may include extreme heat (temperatures above 100 degrees) or extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees). The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may be occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to climb ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc. Bending downward and forward at the waist. Requires full use of lower extremities and back muscles. Resting on knee or knees. Bending downward and forward at the leg and spine. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Standing extended time periods. Walking for long distances. Using upper body to press against something with steady force. Using upper body to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects. Use of upper body and back muscles to lift objects.

Medium work; exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel:

Travel is not expected for this position.
