Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Plant Operator to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Woodinville, WA. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and troubleshooting Hot Mix Asphalt batch and drum plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate mobile equipment on plant property, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and haul trucks.
  • Maintain cleanliness of plant work areas and assist with plant tasks, including lubrication, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Transport materials to and from storage and shop areas, utilizing equipment to maximize productivity and minimize wear and downtime.
  • Report mechanical or maintenance issues with equipment and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment and ability to work in a team and individually.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with good attendance and punctuality.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections.
  • Must have the physical ability to climb, stoop, bend, squat, lift (up to 75 lbs.), sit and stand for extended periods, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule with flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and nights.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in open pit mining operations and aggregate products.
What We Offer
  • $58.67 per hour.
  • Benefits through the Union as outlined in Local 302 Contract Agreement.
Work Environment
  • Role operations primarily in environments where conditions include inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
  • Ability to work outside year-round, including conditions of extreme hot and cold weather.
