Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care/Medication Technician to join our team at Morada Grand Prairie. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing hands-on care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being, and maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment.

Responsibilities:

Caregiver:

  • Provide individualized care and support to residents, including assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Monitor and report changes in resident condition, including symptoms, behavior, and physical changes.
  • Respond promptly to resident call bells and security system alerts.
  • Assist with continence management and disposal of continence products.
  • Serve and collect food trays, and assist with meal service as needed.
  • Maintain resident rooms and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Practice good standard care precautions, including cleanliness, hygiene, and health.
  • Engage residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.

Medication Technician duties:

  • Review resident service plans to learn pertinent information about residents.
  • Assist with medication administration, using the medication observation record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass.
  • Document and initial medication administration records, including refusal or missed doses.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information, including medication.
  • Report resident concerns to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator.
  • Restock medication carts after medication passes.
  • Count narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.
  • Maintain and clean the Medication Room, med charts, and treatment carts.
  • Follow re-fill process for medications.
  • Participate in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
  • Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks, and hazardous chemicals immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • CPR Certification preferred.
  • First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
