We are seeking an experienced Advanced Patient Care Technician to join our team at Medical City Dallas. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient-centric care, ensuring the highest level of comfort and satisfaction for our patients.
Responsibilities- Obtain and record patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other relevant data.
- Document observations, interactions, and patient responses to performed activities, and report any physical or behavioral changes to the RN/Team Lead.
- Assist with mobility, including regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients, as well as helping with the use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs.
- Transfer patients to and from other units, departments, or entities, and assist with discharges.
- Provide or assist with non-medicated care, including non-sterile dressing changes, skin protection, application of heat or ice, and venous compression devices.
- Collect specimens for diagnostic or waived tests, ensuring accuracy of all labels and transfer of specimens.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination, and change bed linens as needed.
- Perform hourly rounding and respond promptly to call lights and patient requests, aiming to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
- Certified in Phlebotomy or a Certified Monitor Tech.
- Prior experience as a PCT in a Hospital setting.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
