Job Description

The Ringling College of Art and Design is seeking a highly skilled Retail Sales Associate to join our team in the Museum Shop. As a key member of our customer-facing team, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional visitor experience, ensuring that all visitors feel welcome and engaged.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Open and close the store, balancing cash and register, making deposits, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Process returns and exchanges, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Lead the customer service experience, maintaining in-depth product knowledge and communicating effectively with customers and staff.
  • Count and process new deliveries, generate labels and tickets, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Work independently in the absence of the Retail Manager, making decisions and taking initiative to ensure the store runs smoothly.
  • Interact with customers to offer guidance, point out products, and assist them in making purchasing decisions.
  • Process transactions through the POS, balance cash and register, and solve discrepancies.
  • Promote and sell membership and its benefits, highlighting the value and perks of membership.
  • Maintain organization, adequate inventory, and initiate restocking of merchandise, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all customer-facing areas, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Two or more years' sales, customer service, or hospitality experience.
  • Experience in cash handling and knowledge of Point of Sale systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Interest in Museum and Contemporary Art.
