Primary Purpose:
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative software solutions that align with established coding standards and technical design principles. This role involves researching, designing, developing, and implementing new software applications while enhancing existing functionalities. Collaboration with team members, stakeholders, and the Product team is crucial to ensure that the software meets business, functional, and technical requirements.
The Senior Software Engineer will translate both business and technical requirements into well-engineered, tested, and deployed technology solutions. This includes gathering user requirements, defining system functionalities, and writing code in various programming languages. The role encompasses overseeing projects from inception to completion, including all necessary documentation and reports, while mentoring less experienced team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design technical solutions based on defined project scope and requirements.
- Develop and configure technical components to meet business needs.
- Document programming code to fulfill gathered requirements.
- Deliver solutions through ERP or SaaS platforms.
- Conduct code reviews and quality assurance to ensure compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with team members to refine user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare development and testing environments, ensuring readiness for testing phases.
- Address bugs identified during quality assurance and testing processes.
- Continuously manage technical debt and improve existing applications.
- Release software into production and conduct various testing phases.
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving team workflows and reducing technical debt.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and client stakeholders.
- Act as a project leader in solution design and processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on technology solutions.
- Work with the Product team to develop Master Data Management strategies.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in technology roles.
- Experience in a leadership capacity, guiding teams directly or indirectly.
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer or Developer.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, and others.
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with web application development using popular frameworks.
- Familiarity with test-driven development practices.
- Ability to document technical requirements and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree or advanced certifications in relevant fields.
- Experience in Agile methodologies and team leadership.
- Background in the retail or grocery sector.
