Job Overview:

As a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), you will play a pivotal role in educating aspiring pilots through comprehensive classroom instruction and practical flight training. Your responsibilities will include assessing student performance and providing detailed feedback on their progress. You will cover essential topics such as risk assessment, aircraft mechanics, operational protocols, emergency management, analytical problem-solving, navigation techniques, radio communication, and the principles of aerodynamics. Additionally, you will ensure that all students are well-versed in and adhere to TransMedics' policies and safety regulations, operating with a high degree of autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective students and coordinate flight schedules.
  • Conduct facility tours and educate clients about TransMedics' policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Execute flight instructor duties as permitted by Federal Aviation Regulations, following the approved Training Course Outline.
  • Maintain instructor qualifications in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Accurately manage all necessary documentation, including student training records and logbooks.
  • Regularly monitor each assigned student’s progress to ensure they meet course expectations.
  • Ensure that all training standards and objectives are fulfilled by students as outlined in the Training Course Outline.
  • Initiate requests for stage checks for students under your instruction.
  • Oversee the timely completion of training for all assigned flight students, including necessary documentation.
  • Monitor the condition of training aircraft and report any maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Propose enhancements to curriculum and training materials as needed, and develop new instructional content as assigned.
  • File incident reports to document any safety violations or concerns that could impact flight safety.
  • Participate in administrative meetings, standardization sessions, in-service training, and instructor development workshops as required.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certification.
  • Current FAA Medical Certificate.
Certifications and Additional Requirements:
  • Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) or Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) preferred but not mandatory.
