Responsibilities:- Verify materials meet purchase order requirements at receiving.
- Move materials from the receiving area to their correct inventory location in a safe and efficient manner.
- Fills out material issue cards and maintains accurate records.
- Set up and operate saws, planers, and other hand finishing equipment to prepare materials for further operations.
- Verify conformance of materials to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Use tape measures and dial calipers to measure and document dimensions of work pieces.
- Able to use hand tools and power tools, including forklifts and cranes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Fully responsible for the quality of work and compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Work overtime as required and perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Trade School Diploma preferred.
- Minimum two years of hands-on experience with saws, planers, and other types of machines.
- Experience with devices to lift heavy irregular-shaped objects, such as cranes and power lifts.
- Basic shop mathematics and ability to read intermediate-level blueprints.
- Understanding of the order of machining operations and good manufacturing practices.
- Able to read and interpret basic blueprints and use measuring tools correctly.
- Control equipment to hold tolerances of 0.125 consistently.
- Verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively.
- Ability to solve practical manufacturing problems with minimal guidance.
- Prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
- Able to lift heavy weights, carry at least 50 pounds, and move, pull, or push materials of this magnitude.
- Work near moving mechanical parts and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
