Key Responsibilities- Operate company vehicles to transport medical equipment, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current home medical equipment products and services offered by AdaptHealth LLC.
- Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures, including those related to customer service and equipment maintenance.
- Manage a territory to reach service goals, delivering equipment and providing education to customers on proper use and care.
- Educate customers on the proper use and care of respiratory and home medical equipment in a home setting.
- Complete written patient visit reports following setup and follow-up visits.
- Assist with customer equipment problems under emergency conditions.
- Process all orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Promote services and products to referral sources in the community.
- Develop basic reimbursement knowledge and document all necessary information to ensure reimbursement for equipment, products, and services.
- Assist with the implementation of quality improvement programs to meet company policies.
- Maintain home oxygen systems through regular visits to customers.
- Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance with company policy.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and simple repairs on equipment as required.
- Report equipment hazards and product incidents as required.
- Safely drive and maintain company vehicles.
- Perform patient assessments and re-assessments for patient care.
- Retain knowledge of and consistently adhere to procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control, and hazardous materials handling.
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with OSHA, DOT, and FDA regulations and requirements for oxygen transportation.
- Ability to clearly express understanding of DOT regulations regarding driving distances during On Duty hours.
- Maintain understanding of all DOT requirements, including travel logs and ability to present upon demand by a DOT or roadside inspection.
- Ability to understand and verbally respond to any DOT inspector while driving a company vehicle during On Duty hours.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Complete assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
- Maintain compliance with AdaptHealth LLC's Compliance Program.
- Responsible for cleaning equipment when assigned by supervisor or downtime allows, following Branch Maintenance and Cleaning Guidelines.
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Entry-level sales, customer service background essential.
- Military, delivery driver with sales component, or healthcare technician experience considered related experience.
- One (1) year of HME delivery experience preferred.
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license in the state of residence.
- Current DOT Medical Examiners Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 85 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 160 pounds.
- Must be able to stretch, bend, stoop, and crouch, and perform moderate to heavy physical labor while moving equipment, hazardous materials, and supplies.
