Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist in the assessment and interpretation of monthly financial reports.
  • Assist other managers in analyzing their cost center expense reports.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses and reports.
  • Responsible for monthly billing of grants.
  • Conduct special studies and analyses.
  • Perform periodic internal audits.
  • Perform reconciliation of accounts.
  • Prepare reports for internal and external users.
  • Assist in monitoring cash flow for the organization.
  • Assist in the coordination of year-end and other external audits.
  • Assist in training of new employees and participate in cross-training as directed by the Financial Controller.
  • Participate in department, Staff Development, and General Staff meetings.
  • Reconcile bank statements and prepare month-end cash entry.
  • Responsible for prepaid expenses.
  • Responsible for city, state, and federal grants as assigned.
  • Responsible for monthly and annual in-house EIS Grant reporting.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • Three years of experience in the accounting field required.
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting desirable.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply GAAP.
  • Ability to operate a computer and use various software programs.
  • Ability to analyze financial and statistical information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to reason mathematically and to have analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
