We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer II to join our team at HNTB Corporation. As a key member of our Electrical Section in Kansas City, you will be responsible for designing electrical systems for a variety of clients on highway, municipal, bridge, transit, and airport projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.
  • Perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery in partnership with the project team.
  • Apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software.
  • Contribute to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB's clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Exhibits proficiency in applying engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles in work.
  • Displays proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCAD or other software as required for job assignments.
  • Electrical Engineering design for Civil Transportation projects.
  • Design low voltage power distribution systems, street lighting, traffic signals, area lighting, pedestrian lighting, aesthetic lighting, and other electrical systems.
  • Design power distribution and control systems for Movable Bridges.
  • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Prepare electrical engineering designs that are responsive to project needs.
