Job Overview

Position Summary: This role involves overseeing the month-end closing activities and generating comprehensive financial analyses of operations. The individual will prepare interim and final financial statements along with supporting schedules to guide management decisions. A key responsibility is ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting standards while fostering a robust internal control framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the monthly closing cycle, including the preparation and approval of journal entries for the designated business unit.
  • Guarantee that all accounting practices align with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Analyze accounting data to produce insightful financial reports and statements.
  • Prepare or validate reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and conduct variance analyses.
  • Compile monthly financial statements and other reports for the financial package.
  • Ensure timely and precise financial reporting for the business unit.
  • Oversee payroll analysis and accounting functions within the business unit.
  • Maintain accurate Fixed Asset records, ensuring timely recording of transactions and depreciation.
  • Adhere to established accounting policies and procedures, contributing to their revision or development as necessary.
  • Generate daily cash flow and other periodic management reports.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Assist in preparing analyses for the year-end audit and support other finance-related projects, including process improvement initiatives.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests as needed.
  • Enhance systems and procedures, initiating corrective actions where required.
Supervisory Role:

This position includes supervisory responsibilities.

Required Competencies:

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in a similar field.

Certification: CPA certification is mandatory.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in general accounting and payroll.

Experience in public accounting with a solid understanding of internal controls is preferred.

Familiarity with Great Plains Software is advantageous.

Experience with system implementations or upgrades is a plus.
