About the Role

As a Fire Alarm Apprentice at Summit Fire & Security, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the installation of fire alarm systems. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Fire Alarm Superintendent and project lead in the installation of fire alarm systems.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Contribute to a safe work environment by participating in cleaning job sites, tools, and equipment.
  • Carry equipment, such as ladders, tools, and replacement parts, from vehicles or laydown areas to required locations.
  • Develop your skills and knowledge in fire alarm and special hazards installation under various teaching practices.
  • Learn and apply NFPA 72 and NEC 70 to enhance your skills and prepare for NICET Certification.
  • Stay informed about SFS's Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in weekly Toolbox talks and ensure access to safety documentation on each project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 0 years of experience in the Fire Life Safety Industry, specifically in Fire Alarm, is required.
  • 1+ years of professional computer skills are necessary.
  • The ability to learn and develop tactful skills for promotion to a Fire Alarm & Security Technician is desired.
  • Compliance with SFS's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements is mandatory, which may also include customer-specific requirements based on contractual agreements.
  • Efficient time management, organizational, and prioritization skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and collaboration with all levels of employees are necessary.
  • Strong diligence and accuracy are expected.

Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
