About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Northeast Georgia Health System. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the LPN will provide nursing care to assigned patient populations, organizing patient care and setting priorities while assisting with the provision of patient care as established within the framework of the Georgia Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with data collection and provide feedback to the Registered Nurse from a variety of sources to enhance clinical decisions about treatments and nursing interventions.
  • Obtain data sensitive to cultural diversity, ethnicity, age, gender, and lifestyle choices from multiple sources, including the patient, significant other, healthcare providers, and medical records.
  • Assist with the collection of pertinent data and report findings to the Registered Nurse and other healthcare providers, documenting relevant data according to hospital standards.
  • Carry out therapeutic interventions established in the interdisciplinary plan of care, implementing interventions with safety, skill, and efficiency, and adjusting according to patient response.
  • Teach the patient and significant other regarding needs identified on admission and during the hospitalization, documenting teaching as established by hospital standards.
  • Provide real-time feedback to the Registered Nurse in the evaluation of interventions and treatments and how they affect patient health status and expected outcomes.
  • Evaluate patient responses to nursing care and therapies, documenting responses to nursing interventions according to hospital standards.
  • Involves the patient, significant other, and healthcare providers in the evaluation and revision of the plan of care.
Requirements
  • Current State LPN License.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of ten (10) hours of continuing nursing education annually in addition to the 20 hours of mandatory licensure requirement.
  • New graduate LPNs or those with less than one year of experience will be referred to the LPN residency program.
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred, with a minimum of two (2) years experience.
