Position Summary

The Senior IT Help Desk Specialist is responsible for executing a wide range of IT functions, from standard installations and maintenance to complex technical tasks, with minimal supervision. This role requires proficiency in handling intricate IT assignments and delivering effective support through desktop IT skills, showcasing strong judgment and initiative. The ideal candidate will excel both in team settings and independently, demonstrating leadership capabilities while managing technical projects and assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and configure desktop systems, portable devices, peripherals, and software in various environments, including networked and standalone setups.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software and hardware issues for desktop and portable computers.
  • Provide comprehensive guidance and instruction to users regarding the operation of desktop and portable computing devices.
  • Evaluate customer service requests and deliver timely technical solutions.
  • Conduct IT audits as required, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports to team leads as necessary.
  • Utilize ticketing systems to manage support requests efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and document findings.
  • Communicate effectively with users through various channels, including phone and electronic communication.
  • Prepare equipment for reuse or manage surplus property actions.
  • Provide remote technical support to users as needed.
  • Oversee software and hardware upgrades across multiple devices and peripherals.
  • Coordinate the setup and relocation of IT equipment for office moves and new locations.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks such as walking, bending, and reaching.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing desktop operating systems, business applications, and hardware.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of five years in the industry.
  • Relevant IT certifications in desktop and mobile support are preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate leadership qualities.
  • Must possess a TS clearance.
