We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient specimens and provide accurate results.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and spectrophotometers.
- Conduct quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate laboratory results.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest laboratory techniques and technologies.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Current Louisiana license or temporary license as Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Technician required.
- Meets CLIA and CAP requirements for testing personnel relative to scope of duties.
- Good analytical skills, strong time management skills, and good judgment skills required.
The physical demands of this role include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly. The work environment may involve occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment.
