About the Position: The primary role of the Regional Operations Manager is to serve as a support liaison for all Energy Storage initiatives within a designated region. This position entails direct responsibility for various support activities based on the project life cycle, encompassing commissioning through to post-commercial operation support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and manage O&M Service Business performance across critical business metrics (Safety, Finance, Maintenance, etc.).
  • Maintain the service relationship with clients by ensuring clear communication and thorough understanding of contract execution.
  • Foster a safety culture by enhancing the established Fluence safety management system.
  • Oversee regional income statement performance, including budget formulation in collaboration with the Global Services Lead.
  • Implement proactive and reactive maintenance strategies in Fluence-managed projects, adhering to defined asset management protocols while promoting continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with multiple third-party service vendors to ensure the safe execution of O&M services across contracted projects.
  • Identify emerging issues impacting product performance or Fluence Energy Service and Support business performance, devise resolution strategies, communicate effectively, implement solutions, and follow up to ensure sustainability.
  • Support, lead, and facilitate internal and external Root Cause Analysis and Management of Change initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and deploying asset management strategies for customer assets.
  • Lead training initiatives for Battery Energy Storage Array O&M for new owners and third-party service providers.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required, with a strong preference for technical disciplines (BSEE, BSME, BSCE, Chemistry, Physics, Math).
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in electric utility or independent power production, particularly within generation/operations/technical teams (Coal, Gas, Solar, Hydro, Wind).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading safety initiatives in operational environments.
  • Experience managing income statements, including budget development.
  • Proven ability in technical problem-solving through structured methodologies and complex analytics.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting platforms such as NetSuite or equivalent.
  • Successful history in business process management, including project reporting/management, work execution, procure-to-pay, change management, and workforce development.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with third-party service providers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with various levels of customer organizations.
  • Extensive planning, organizing, and coordination experience among multiple stakeholders to achieve shared objectives that directly impact business performance.
  • Project management, meeting leadership, and facilitation experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with SCADA and MODBUS is advantageous.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time to support existing and new Energy Storage fleets.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as bending, stooping, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Visual acuity for close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception is required.
