Job Title: Senior Electronics Engineer

Canoo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronics Engineer to lead the development and sourcing of in-house control units, ensuring products meet all requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capture system requirements from stakeholders and translate into technical specifications.
  • Responsible for component selection and schematic capture.
  • Ensure the architecture of the Electronic Control Unit meets all functional and environmental requirements for a rugged automotive environment.
  • Create documentation to support technical robustness of design.
  • Work with PCB Designer and Mechanical Engineer to verify library components and guide and approve layouts.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of all engineering and validation test plans and reports.
  • Work with all engineering disciplines to ensure the final product meets all technical and commercial requirements.
  • Work with commercial teams to ensure cost targets and schedules are met.
Requirements:
  • Minimum bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited university with a major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or another related STEM field.
  • MSEE or advanced degree in STEM is preferred.
  • Highly analytical with excellent documentation and traceability skills.
  • Experience with mixed-signal embedded controller design.
  • Experience with high-speed design and signal integrity.
  • Technical understanding and familiarity with automotive industry standards.
  • Familiarity with CAN, LIN, Ethernet communications and the tools used to interface with them.
  • Familiarity with board design and manufacturing processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with automotive electronics development standards such as ISO 16750 series.
  • Experience with automotive controllers used in safety critical systems.
  • Experience with Altium Designer.
