Job Summary

The Transfer/Admit Center Nurse works as part of a high-functioning team, coordinating the assignment of patient admissions and performing initial admission screening using approved clinical guidelines to ensure patient admissions and bed assignments are consistent with current policy and procedure.

This role requires collaboration with multiple departments within the hospital and participation in bed management meetings with hospital staff.

The successful incumbent will identify and communicate bed utilization issues and report barriers to patient transfers and admissions efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient admissions and bed assignments
  • Perform initial admission screening using approved clinical guidelines
  • Collaborate with multiple departments within the hospital
  • Participate in bed management meetings with hospital staff
  • Identify and communicate bed utilization issues
  • Report barriers to patient transfers and admissions efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare-related field
  • 2 years of clinical nursing experience demonstrating knowledge of nursing process, patient flow, and coordination with multiple departments
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association
