Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States Rettew Associates Full time
Job Title: Water/Wastewater Engineer 2

Rettew Associates is seeking a highly skilled Water/Wastewater Engineer 2 to join our growing Municipal Team in Lancaster, PA.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and client-focused Engineer 2 to support our Municipal Team with environmental design for multi-disciplined water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in water/wastewater/municipal engineering and EIT certification.

Responsibilities:
  • Public and private sector environmental engineering design for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment projects.
  • Work includes basic to moderate complexity planning, design, and permitting for municipal clients.
  • Ability to effectively present projects to clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Client interaction and meeting participation.
  • Participate in fieldwork supporting construction management activities.
Types of Projects:
  • PTSA WWTP Expansion project: Rettew's wastewater treatment experts analyzed alternatives for treatment plant expansion as well as BNR. A key constraint in the alternatives analysis was to expand the treatment plant capacity using existing tankage. Rettew recommended a membrane bioreactor (MBR) system for the upgrade because of lower operating and maintenance costs compared to other alternatives.
  • Sudlersville water system design: Rettew secured USDA funding for the project and designed the centralized system. Rettew was responsible for designing the water treatment, storage, and distribution systems; permitting the water system, and overseeing the construction of the systems.
  • Asylum Run Interceptor Replacement: Rettew designed and replaced approximately 4,400 LF of VCP with a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sanitary sewer line, as well as 14 48-inch manholes.
Requirements:
  • BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Biological Engineering, or similar technical fields.
  • EIT required.
  • Minimum two years of environmental or civil engineering experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
Perks & Benefits:
